Prize-winning student internship

Two West Suffolk College students have beaten off stiff opposition to win a design a brand competition for the newly formed Suffolk Academies Trust.

The competition, which was open to Art and Design students from the WSC and Suffolk One in Ipswich, was launched as a real life commercial brief for students to engage with. Jordan Penny, a second year Graphic Design Extended Diploma student, won a week’s internship in the studio at Trebuchet.

Derek Johnson, Head of Art and Design, said:

“This type of real life commercial brief is what my school and this college is all about. It offers a genuine industry experience as well as excellent material for their portfolios. The students did a fantastic job as their work testifies.”
